Iza Herremans studied law at Leiden University. She completed her master’s degree in criminal law in 2024 and wrote her thesis about the tension between the crime of sedition and freedom of expression. She wrote her bachelor’s thesis on whether freedom of religion should be absorbed in freedom of expression.

During her studies, she interned and worked at several criminal law firms. She also volunteered at the Children’s Legal Advice Centre in Amsterdam for many years. On 1 March 2025, Iza joined Jebbink Soeteman Advocaten.
