Willem Jebbink has a career background in financial-economic criminal law. He is specialized in Dutch Supreme Court cases and international human rights law cases, such as complaint procedures at the European Court of Human Rights and the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations. In addition, he has distinguishable expertise in freedom of expression and freedom of demonstration cases in the context of criminal law. Perseverance, anticipation and strong commitment helps him to build a substantive and strong defence.
Career
Willem Jebbink spent the first six years of his career in The Hague working for the law firm Sjöcrona Van Stigt advocaten, which focuses on financial-economic criminal law in particular. In 2003 he moved to Böhler Franken Koppe Wijngaarden in Amsterdam, where he acquired considerable experience in the field of political and human rights cases. Following this, he made a name for himself at Spong Advocaten as a lawyer who fights for principles, which he continues to do. In 2009 he started Jebbink Soeteman advocaten together with Jeroen Soeteman.
Willem Jebbink is the co-author of SDU Commentary on Criminal law and of the Criminal Cases Manual. He regularly publishes legal articles and opinion articles, which appear inter alia in professional journals and national newspapers such as Nederlands Juristenblad, Het Financieele Dagblad, Volkskrant and NRC Handelsblad. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers and the Association of Cassation Lawyers in Criminal Cases.
